Midrand is located between Centurion and Sandton in central Gauteng. Midrand has good access to highways and as a result has seen a large amount of growth in recent years with many companies relocating to the area. Midrand has its own airport, Grand Central Airport and a Gautrain station.

Midrand’s growth means that there is now little break between the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria and some say that soon there will be no gap between them at all with only one large metropolitan area instead. Midrand is home to large-scale industries such as textiles and motor vehicles, and has the largest conference centre in the country, Gallagher Estate, which hosts a wide range of events and expos throughout the year.
